Hire a canoe at Nichol End!

Derwentwater is a lovely lake to explore by canoe, with a number of islands to explore and some varied shoreline.  Nichol End has canoes available to hire all year round.  Hire costs £15  (<16ft) and £20 (17ft 3 Adults / 2 Adults, 3 Children) for the first hour then £10/£15 repectively for each hour after that.  If you have any queries see our FAQ, or drop us an e-mail on info@nicholend.co.uk.

Are mainly Hou canoes.  We have Hou 13's, Prospector's,  17's for hire.

End of Season Sale:-

90% of our canoes and kayaks are sold every year - half in early sept and the other half in late October.  They have around 4 months use at this point.  There is usually around 30% off RRP at this point - sometimes a bit more depending on condition and age.
