How old do I need to be to go out on my own?

Most children can start to manage a kayak from around 8 years, we can provide towropes just in case they struggle with a full session. Any children under 16 need an adult over 18 yrs on the water with them to supervise their session (in the dame group, not necessarily in the same boat)

I cant swim, is this a problem?

No, buoyancy aids are provided and we insist they are worn.  However, if you are afraid of water then kayaking may not be the sport for you.

    Can I bring my dog?

If your dog is a water pup, then they are welcome on our boats.  (sorry, we do not have doggy life-jackets to hire)

    Do you have rescue cover?

Rescue cover is on standby when ever members boats are on the water.  It will be scrambled if you are substantially late back,  we are alerted by phone or if the weather conditions massively deteriorate.

    What is your cancellation policy?

We may need to cancel due to bad weather or operational issues.  We will give you as much notice as possible and either refund or rebook.  If you wish to cancel you must give us 48 hrs notice and we will rebook.

    What about covid 19?

Hire is by appointment only - please arrive at your booked time.   All boats, oars, buoyancy aids, wet-suits... are cleaned between use.   Alcohol Gel and hand wash are available.  Changing tents are sprayed with medical sanitiser after use, Changing rooms are thoroughly cleaned between customers, general cleaning frequency is increased.

If you feel unwell or have been asked to self isolate, please do not attend your session.  Contact our hire staff to let them know and we will rearrange the booking for you.

     Are wet-suits available?

Yes, we have plenty of wet suits available.  However, changing spaces (tents or changing rooms) need to be booked.  Wet-suits are being washed and sanitised between users, but may be damp.
