online shop departments

There is a load going on - as usual we will have a BBQ on the patio from around lunchtime till early evening.  The cafe will be open for breakfast and the usual scone mountain will await demolition through the day.

There is free tuition available - at the time of writing there is:-

-  Sailing Tuition

-  Windsurfing Tuition

-  Trips on the Catamaran

-  Kayak Games (9-16years)

- Kayak Games (Adults)

-  Kayaking for families with young children (parent and child aged 2-7)

-  Canoeing sessions.

- Canoe Clinics

We have a number of instructors waiting in the wings to run more sessions - were waiting to see whats popular this year before offering up the extra sessions.  If you want to do something that is full do join the waiting list as we will use this to help gague demand and will let you know if an appropriate session is added. We ask that you only book 2 sets of tuition per person over the weekend so that everyone can have a go at something.  If you have any questions or if you are having problems booking give us a call on 017687 73082 to book you in.  If you want to do a third session you are welcome to be on standby on the day in case someone fails to arrive or there are vacant spaces on the day.  Bookings can be made through the interface at the bottom of the page.

Free Hire -

All our boats (except motor boats) are free to hire for the first hour (of any hire period) over the weekend.  This is on a turn up and go basis (no booking).  You can either pay for extra hours or return your boat after an hour and try a different one (we are trying to give everyone a fair go, so this prevents someone taking the boat for the whole day).  Last year at the peak of the open day there was a short wait for kayaks but no more than 15minutes or so at the height of the day, arriving early or late in the day minimises the chance of a wait.  (we will be open from 8am till 8pm, what better than an evening paddle?)  We also have many more boats availible this year!

Opening Times

We will be open from 8am till 9pm all weekend, with the bulk of the activities happening between 8am and 8pm.  Free tuition avalible between 9.30am and 6pm!

Finding us

If at all possible use the Keswick LaunchBus (stops at the road end - for times we are between Catbells and Portinscale) or walk to us from Keswick.  As parking is limited onsite we will be restricting it to drop off, launching and disabled parking only this weekend.  We hope to negotiate use of alternative parking locally - watch this space. See here for directions to find us.
